My approach has evolved alongside my work. I’ve used tools such as e-collars and prong collars in the past, and I respect the clients who have found success with them. Today, I begin with the dog in front of me: how they’re feeling, what they need, and what may be making it hard for them to learn. My work is rooted in trust, regulation, and connection. I use food, body pressure, clear guidance, thoughtful management, and changes to the environment to help dogs and their people move forward together. If a situation calls for physical intervention to keep everyone safe, I will step in. My goal is always to use the least pressure needed and return to helping the dog feel safe and able to learn..
